Magnificent Mesh Tank Top

Hello blogosphere!

This is a blog is to record my adventures in running, sewing and the other (less sweaty) parts of life. [Look mom, I made this!]

My grandma showed me how to use a sewing machine after I requested too many outfits for my Barbie. So with minimum skill and maximum enthusiasm, I'm jumping into the world of sewing head first. Without further ado....

My Magnificent Mesh Tank Top!
Pattern: Racerback from Simone by Victory + self drafted
Fabric: Knit Mesh from StoneMountain and Daughter Fabric (1/2 off!)

After some research on sewing knit mesh I drafted my pattern and got to work. I decided on 2 layers of mesh to avoid an entirely sheer top. As soon as it looked like an actual garment I put it on and ran out the door for a test run!
(Never mind the unfinished bits...)

Test Run at the Harbor!

The fit is tight in the hips (what, I'm not a pole?!), but besides that I'm very happy with it! It was light even at my most sweaty and made me feel like a badass! After many failed selfie attempts (see below) I asked a woman to take my picture.

The woman taking my photo insisted on a close up, voila!
